How do you get a battery out of a ford escort there is a spindle that is frozen can you break it?

Please explain spindel, If you mean the bolt that holds the cable on try some penatrating oil and brute force. By extreamly care full not to bridge the terminals or battery could short and explode! disconnect the other cable first if possible.
