It is based on whether you have or not have a union
If you don't, the best way to get a raise is wish for it
If you do, call the union and ask
How you get a raise depends on the type of employer you have.
If you work for a very small company or organization, you can discuss opportunities for a raise or promotion with the boss, manager, or owner. Private companies and organizations operate under their own 'rules'.
Most larger companies and organizations have specific guidelines for salary increases and promotions. Find out what those are and what you can do to qualify.
Very large companies and organizations have a personnel department which administers employees' positions and salaries. If your employer has a personnel manager or department, start by making an appointment with him/her/them to discuss salary and opportunities for promotion. Many large companies periodically have openings in different departments. Keeping in touch with the personnel staff can give you an edge when an appropriate opening is available.
It's also possible that your employer can't accommodate your need for more money. The only way to find out is to have the discussion. If this is the case, the sooner you know, the sooner you can start looking for your next employer.
The most effective way is to demonstrate higher-than-average production, or improving work rates. Timing can also be important, asking when management depends more on your output. Generally, the longer the time since your last pay raise, the more likely that one is due.
You can aske for a pay raise when, for some reason, the value of your work for your employer must have increased. This is the case if you have been promoted or have just gotten more responsibility. But there are numerous other situations as well but, again, they all come down to the value of your salary having increased. Regards, David Hill www.negotiateasalary.com
from my experience there are 2 different kinds of electrician's the legal journeymen for the illegal mister fix its. if you do not have a journeymans license and you should go get that start off with, next would be to get a small class is done like night classes involving the kind of work that you're doing such as low voltage or circuitry or controls, next would be to study for your masters license, and then even pass that would be your EC license electrical contractor, but before you do all of this you must be a good honest worker and I've also noticed you cannot be a pushover you must be some what hard headed and sturdy and of course have a good knowledge of the trade
The proper way to ask for a raise is to be direct. You will also want to be prepared to explain why you deserve a raise along with examples.
Having supporting reasons of your value, and a suggested fair value to support your request.
This can be achieved by going all out in your work and doing the best that you can. Also improving while doing your best, can get you a raise.
went on strike
Raise what to 600
I'm a student and one of my course was about raising money for Charity and we had to work as a group so me and my group pick a Charity called 'children in need' so we raise £100+ so ya even little amount then this can work as well so just raise how much you can and then give it to children in need
So long as your employer didn't promise a raise in a contract, then your employer is under no obligation to provide you a raise - no matter how stellar of an employee you are.
all depends on what you work...
There is probably a good reason why you aren't getting a raise. For instance, the company you work for may be running out of business and unable to pay you a raise.
