To successfully seek an annulment, you must file your request with the court within a certain amount of time. This time frame will depend upon a couple of different factors - where you live, the reason for the annulment, and when you first discovered the condition that renders your marriage invalid.

For example, if a couple is seeking an annulment on the basis that one of the parties defrauded the other, the court would want to know when the fraud was first discovered. If the spouse being deceived discovered the fraud but then continued in the marriage for a considerable time after, the court would be less likely to grant an annulment and the couple would have to seek a traditional divorce instead.

It depends, if the Methodist woman's marriage was annulled in a civil court, or if she was divorced and annulled in a protestant church: it would still need to be annulled by the Catholic Church. The Church *always* defends the bond, except in rare open and shut cases. You need to speak to a priest about this. If the woman's marriage is annulled by the Catholic Church, THEN you must receive permission from the Bishop for a mixed marriage, or she could convert.

He did not divorce any of his wives. His marriage to his 4th wife; Anne of Cleves, was annulled. His marriage to Catherine of Aragon was annulled by Thomas Cranmer, Archbishop of Canterbury. This marriage was annulled after the Pope continued to delay giving Henry an answer to his petition for an annulment of his marriage with Catherine. He then broke from Rome, and created the Church of England.

his first marriage was annulled... so technically didn't count his second was also annulled his third was a marriage. his 4th was annulled, so did not exist. his 5th was beheaded, but not annulled, and his 6th wife survived him. so 3 marriages all in all.

When a marriage has been annulled it is considered as never having happened, at least from a sacramental point of view. Where the original spouse or the prospective spouse comes from is irrelevant. Those who have had a marriage annulled by the church are free to marry, period.

That depends entirely on what you are asking, how you are defining your terms. An annulment in the Catholic Church is granted for a defect in the original marriage - or before. Such an annulment is just a decree that no valid marriage actually happened. But such an annulment has no weight in most civil governments, and the reasons may or may not be religious. However, if you are asking if a marriage can be annulled, for instance, because one spouse becomes a Christian, then, yes, this is called the Pauline privilege where the marriage is dissolved not annulled. The Petrine privilege is where a valid but non-sacramental marriage is dissolved not annulled in the favor of the faith if one person becomes Catholic and wishes to be baptized.

No. Even though same-sex marriage is legal in New Mexico, the state Republican Party platform of New Mexico calls for preventing government from applying the word "marriage" to same-sex couples.
