Its a master key which you need to get spare keys cut. Losing the red key may result in having to have all the locks replaced on the car, and will significantly reduce its resale value.

put key in ignition and press accerater for 10 mins . get a user manual for your car and it has it in there

Yes it has, I own punto mk2 and first i thought there was something wrong with the wiring but then i discovered that if you hold down the small button on the ignition switch at the same time you can rotate the key one more step counterclockwise and the lights come on.. then you can pull off the key with the park lights remaining on.
If your fiat has twin front airbags, the light means that the n/s airbag has been switched off. To switch it on open the n/s door insert key and turn, remove key, and turn on ignition, light should go out.

No lights light up and I presume no sounds when you turn the key, I would first check to see if the battery has a charge.
