You will definently have to jack up the car pretty high or put it on a lift. Make sure exactly where it is coming from, the heater lines or the heater core. The lines run into the core which can be a hassle to change. It sits under the dash and the inlet outlet shoot through the firewall to hook to the lines. Hope your one of the few lucky ones that has the leak on the outside and not in the floorboard.
there is a small leak in the hoses or around the outside rim of your radiator
The only hose connections at the firewall that contain coolant are the connections at the heater core. You either have a loose clamp or the compression fitting between the steel and metal parts of the hose itself are leaking. If there is coolant leaking out of an drain at the bottom area of the firewall, there's a good chance that it's leaking from the heater core itself, through a drain pipe which is the same drain pipe that removes water condensation from the air conditioning.

A 2000 Oldsmobile Alero with a 2.2 engine will hold approximately 13 liters of coolant. Adding coolant to your vehicle is very important.
1995-2004 2.4 engines (Z24s & Sunfire GTs) have a metal coolant outlet line on the firewall side of the engine block. The thermostat housing is an intergal part of this outlet line as well. This would be the first place I'd check for a coolant leak between the firewall and engine. Good luck.
Either your coolant is actually low or you have a coolant sensor bad.
