How do you get addicted to rocks?
The addiction to looking at, studying, or collecting rocks is easy to understand. First of all, rocks come in many sizes, shapes, colors, and patterns. Some have sparkly crystals or shiny faces. Some look like animal forms, mechanical devices or body parts. Once you look into the processes that lead to rock formation, understand the spans of ages involved, and are able to marvel at gigantic formations like the Grand Canyon, you get an appreciation for rocks that borders on an addiction because it brings you pleasure when you look at them and talk about them. Kind of like taking a mind altering drug.
