The problem here is that Montmartre (the hill itself) doesn't have a metro station. You need to walk down the hill to ANVERS. Then 2 stops on line 2 direction NATION brings you to LA CHAPELLE, from which station a moving pavement takes you through a tunnel to Gare du Nord. Actually, it's probably simpler to walk the whole way!
Crazily enough, on foot. There is a long tunnel leading from the one station to the other, supplied with a moving walkway for part of the way.

Depends which freeway (autoroute). If you are on the A1 (from the airport for instance) go straight ahead on the Rue de la Chapelle and follow the signs (There's a right fork about halfway). On any other, go round the Périphérique to Porte de la Chapelle and turn onto Rue de la Chapelle as above.

Not as easy as it looks. Take the Metro line 5, direction Bobigny, to STALINGRAD. The line 7 direction La Courneuve to Porte de la Villette.

Simplest way is a No.26 bus, which leaves from directly outside the station, to the left as you exit from the main line area. Alternatively, you can go by RER - the express underground. Follow signs to the new MAGENTA station, approached through a pedestrian tunnel from Gare du Nord, which connects with Saint-Lazare.
