It works if you put vinegar and water then get a vacum and it will suck it all up i spilled brown paint on my white carpet and it got it right up try it

Depending on the size of the paint spot, you can cut it out if it is only a small area and it is on top of the carpet. Vinegar and water has been known to help with Latex paint. Avoid Paint remover as it will dissolve the carpet backing.

One gallon of paint splattered all over a carpet is a nightmare but after continually dumping cold water, sucking it up with a wet vac and repeating the paint was virtually gone.

Steam clean it, and use nail polish remover if it's driend. You can also scrub in Dawn dish soap, and the polish remover and the steam clean. However, result may varry. It worked for me sorta, and I had Stanley Steamers do it... I still have a huge spot under the rug in my office... But, my best friend used polish remover, and her spot has vanised... Best of Luck..! Hope it works for ya.!!

Try a little paint stripper or "goof off" on a small area to see if it causes damage to the carpet. If not, work a little into the carpet, let it sit for a few minutes then use water and a wet vac to pull it back out. Rinse it a few times, using the wet vac. You may need to go through the process a few times, but understand that the carpet has to be dry when you put the paint stripper on, otherwise it won't soften the paint. BTW, this only works for latex, oil and laquer paints, epoxy or other high-tech paints aren't really affected by paint stripper.

Modern paints vary greatly in composition and it is not possible to give one treatment for all types. As a guide, use the solvent suggested on the paint tin label for thinning paint and cleaning brushes. Treat promptly, as set stains are very difficult to remove. If paint has dried, soften with glycerine before applying treatment. For oil paint, enamels and alkyd type paints, scrape off as much as possible and soak remaining stain in turpentine, or kerosene. Then wash in usual way. Latex or plastic water-base paints, e.g. Acrylic and P.V.A. will wash out easily with cold water when fresh. Remove any remaining stain with methylated spirits (wood alcohol) (test first to see that acetate fabrics are not affected). Once dry, these paints are virtually impossible to remove.

If the paint has not dried, scrape up as much as possible, then use either water for latex or mineral spirits for oil on a rag to rinse the surface and remove the remaining paint. Blot up the spot as much as possible, then clean the area with a carpet cleaner if needed to remove any residue.

For dried water based paints, use a paint remover like Goof-off or Oops, available at most home or paint stores. Dried oil based requires either lacquer thinner or acetone.

Be sure to check for color fastness in a hidden area first, then apply the solvent to the stain. Scrape away as much as possible with a plastic putty knife, then nlot the surface with a rag until the paint has been removed. Once the stain has been removed, rent a commercial carpet cleaner to remove the residue left behind. That should remove most of the stain, and if your lucky, not leave any evidence of the spill

If it is water based paint, use some Oops or Goof off to soften the paint, then scrape as much as you can off with a plastic spatula or putty knife, Once you've removed all you can, rent a commercial carpet cleaner to remove the residue.
