By unusual, I mean something that almost no-one else is doing or saying. People are so bombarded by advertizing and stimulation that their brains develop a way of blocking out common messages. If you can find something that is weird, new, unusual, then you will bypass their blocking mechanism and jolt them into focusing on you or your message. You have to be careful when trying to attract attention as sometimes it can be misconstrewed into something its not.
