I would say to give the fridge a good wipe down using a cleaning product with some bleach in it. ex. Fantastic of 409. Then place an open box of baking soda in the refrigerator. Arm and Hammer even makes special box of baking soda for this purpose. The baking soda will absord the smell in no time. I keep a box in the frigerator and one in the freezer at all times. It makes the ice taste better from the freezer.

After cleaning thoroughly, fill the refrigerator with crumpled newspaper... as many balls of it as will comfortably fit. Leave it in there for a day or two and you'll be amazed at how the paper absorbs odors.
My dad suggested this... his experience in the boating industry taught him this bit of genius. He said he did this all the time in refrigerators on boats that had been shut without running, resulting in a horrible mildew smell. Our freezer had lost power and the meat rotted, including fish. I tried vinegar, baking soda, lemon, coffee grounds.... the newspapers were the only thing that worked.

∙ 16y agoIf you mean from the fur, you might try rubbing the dog down with Tomato Juice, then washing it off with soap and water. That is supposed to work if he tangles with a skunk, although I've never had the misfortune to find out.

∙ 14y agoIf you want to remove the smell from your hands, wash them. Then, wipe them on the faucet or any other stainless steel object. This sounds weird, but it works!
If the odor is in the house, then you'll need to thoroughly clean up the cooking area, take out the trash and then air out the area. You may spray an odor-reducing product, but it may just replace the smell. I use Fabreze odor-free.
