The obvious answer is insect spray. But a kinder, safer way to rid your property of them and do a good deed is, call a beekeeper. Which believe it or not, are listed in most phone directories. If not, you can call the local health department and ask for assistance. The trick is to find the queen bee and all the drones will follow along right into a box, and off they go. Good Luck!
I'M NOT CERTAIN THIS WILL WORK BUT IVE SEEN ON TELEVISON WHERE SMOKE WAS USED TO GET RID OF BEES
Smoke stuns and slows them down while the person takes their honeycombs. It does not kill them. They recover quickly and go on with their work none the worse for wear.
The best bet is to call an exterminator and have them do the removal for you....unless of course the bees are not bothering you. If they are leaving you alone then i would say "live and let live".
NOTE: Avoid using gasoline to kill bees. While gasoline will kill the bees that it covers, you can't cover them all by pouring it into the nest. Before long (especially if beer is involved) somebody will think it might be a good idea to light the gasoline. What generally happens next is that large winged firebombs will come pouring out of the nest looking for somebody to sting.
Unless they are a particularly dangerous bee, why get rid of them? They do no harm but do do a lot of good and left unmolested they are extremely unlikely to sting. If they did sting, a single sting is hardly painful to most adults. If you must get rid of them, there are special insecticide powders that can be placed in the entrance to the nest although a standard garden puffer pack insecticide, such as primiphos methyl, should also work.
If they are honey bees then it should not be difficult to find the nest in Spring or Summer. Rather than just looking, listen carefully for their buzzing. A beekeeper will almost certainly be able to find honey bees if you cannot.
If they are not honey bees then there may be no nest since a lot of bees are what are known as solitary bees. Why would you want to get rid of them in this case - there will just be the odd bee around now and then.
If you have a serious concern about bees in your garden then you may have to face up to changing the plants that you grow. Bees will visit plants that offer them a good source of pollen or nectar - they could have travelled from a nest or hive that is a couple of miles away.
You spray around your house and backyard, that should put a shield around your house tht should get rid of them. I know this because we hve the same problem at my house, only with ants.
To get rid of bees living in pampas grass you will need to use a non toxic insecticide that is not harmful to the grass. It is best to apply the application of insecticide at night when the bees will be back in their nest. You can follow up by spraying chamomile oil on the area you wish to discourage the bees from re-visiting.
Getting rid of wasps and bees is not a job for inexperienced people, and in some cases may be illegal. It is best to get professional advice.
