First of all, don't even consider surgery. It's easy to fix this, you just have to be careful and sanitary, because you don't want to infect the spot. You should identify the spot on your head with a clean finger and then part your hair around it so you can reach it easily. Firstly, what you need to do is get the (ingrown) hair out of the "bump," because that's what's irritating the spot and causing it to be painful and swollen. Sometimes if the hair is close enough to the surface you can squeeze the top of the bump with tweezers and pull it out. If that doesn't work clean a needle with alcohol and make a very small hole in the top. You're going to have to squeeze out all of the foreign substances (or not foreign--blood, lymph, and pus could also be blockage and it's okay if these come out) either way, so if you can't get the hair out at first, squeeze everything else out and then it will come up to the surface. Then you can grab it with the tweezers. (Make sure to use the pads of your fingers when you squeeze it, and not your nails so you don't break the tender skin around the irritated pore.) Afterwards you should dab the spot with a q-tip that you've dipped in rubbing alcohol (and clean everything you used!). Put a little neosporin on the spot and leave it alone--the bump won't be gone right away because the area is still tender. Let it be for at least twenty four hours, and it should be gone.

This particular problem is prevelent among African American men. The custom of shaving is not particularly adaptable to black skin, particularly when the beard is especially curly. One solution is to use a diplitory designed for the African American male. There are several such products, one being Blue Magic. Another designed for women is called Veet, and makes a lather which is then scraped off with a razor like device. Both products will disolve the hair below the skin line and will stop the "bumps" from reappearing. The reason why this phoenomenon occurs is that the hair actually starts to curl below the skin line, thereby creating a pimple like bump. To open the pore, steam the bump with warm water and a wash cloth, then gently scratch to see if the hair will emerge. If it does, use a mild antiseptic and let it grow for a day or two before shaving the spot again. If it does not emerge, then let it rest and apply the antiseptic in case it is infected. The best solution is to use the special diplatory, or if possible, grow a goatee.

You finger comb it til you like it the bump won't go away though so just rock the style it's because the braid was too tight , when you take the braid out the skin finally gets to relax it makes that bump
