I have the same problem with my 4.0 2000 Jeep Grand Cher. I also have a broken heater core that is in the process of being replaced and that is a likely source of the noise. Coolent leaked fromt heater core builds up in the housing and sloshes around making the water sound. I have the same problem with my 4.0 2000 Jeep Grand Cher.
