Go to search on the start option and search for system restore. If you have this program click on the results. Restore your computer to a day when you did not have the viruses. Your information will not be deleted, only harmfull programs will. This might not work but it is worth giving it a try.
Identifying a virus is the easy part. You may have a virus if you are noticing slow performance, and very odd behaviors of your computer, such as blue screens, random crashes, and others. The hard part is removing it. In order to remove it, you will need to have an up to date AntiVirus software. By the way, do not use Norton, McAfee, or Kaspersky. All those big Antivirus names are just huge sellouts that do not really protect against anything. That's why free AV software is the best, like AVG, MSE, Windows Defender, or my personal favorite, Malwarebytes. Once you have your AV software set up, start up a scan. Once that is done, it will most likely have found your problem, and you may remove the virus.
You have to do a scan with your anti virus software and also an online scan to find the viruses.
You can download a free Vipre Rescue tool from Sunbelt software. It is free and can remove all the viruses from your computer.

Put all important files in an external hard drive, delete all files on the computer, not the external drive, empty the recycle bin, copy drive to computer, then you're done.

The virus is on the hard drive so if you get a new hard drive the virus will be gone. A cheaper option would be to just reinstall the operating system though. (Vista, Win 7)
