my son's friend broke my taillight with a lacrosse ball which caused me to get a used taillight assembly and learn the answer to your question. 99 passat. if it's the driver's side, open the trunk and remove the cover to the CD changer/storage area by twisting the two thumbscrews. this will expose a white plastic insert. press two plastic tabs toward the center and the entire assembly, that holds 4 bulbs (only 3 populated), lifts out easily. to replace a bulb press down and turn (bayonet base). similar concept for passenger side. just lift away the black covering to expose the white plastic assembly.
You don't. Instead, you replace the entire assembly.
On a 2003 VW Passat the driver-side taillight assembly is mounted on using a bracket. To remove the twilight housing unscrew the mounting hardware. Then pry the housing from the vehicle.
As far as I know its on the block in a plastic housing As far as I know its on the block in a plastic housing
Raise the hood, look inward and you'll see a plastic retaining lock (hook) tensioned by a metal spring. You pull on that off its retainer. Pull out the signal assembly off the fender. Replace the bulb by twisting out.
The wiper blades on a VW Passat are changed by pressing the blade release and sliding them from the wiper arm. A new blade assembly can then be placed on the arm and snapped into place.
If it is covered by carpet you may have to cut a "door" into it to get access to the light, some are pre cut. The whole bulb assembly is a white plastic framework holding all the bulbs. This has 3 or 4 clips protruding straight out that must be depressed inward towards the center simultaneously and the assembly will slide out. All the bulbs for that light are on that white plastic unit you have removed. Good luck.
On the lower radiator hose. It has a connector and a black plastic clip.
i know you have to pop out the plastic piece on the door grab ,it formed plastic a screwdriver will separate it and there is some screws on the inside.i just replaced my daughters lock assembly, getting the panel off is the easy part.then you have to lower the window down about half way there are some plastic plugs 2 that give you access to the window clamps loosen those and you can pull the window out.also the panel has those pop in plastic hold downs on the perimeter

"Volkswagen Passat". It has always been "Passat" in Europe.
under the black plastic. 4 cyl has individual coils and the 6 cyl has wires
Under the hood, near the windshield on the passenger side. They will be under the plastic cover next to the battery.
Have done similar procedure on 1999 Passat. Please verify that haze is on inside. Mine was actually on the outside of lense cover. I used a Maguires product called PlastiX to polish the haze off of outside of the lense. It takes a lot of work, but end result is clear lense cover. For the inside, you might be able to remove the lense assembly by removing the spring clips from the adjuster bolts that attach the lense assembly to the body. Similar to what you would do if you had to change the light bulb.
You should check your owner's manual for the exact location in your 2001 Volkswagen Passat. Then, look for a green?æcap, located on the driver's side in the front of the engine compartment. It should be between the headlight assembly and the ABS brake control.
Under the hood, on the far passenger side in rear of engine compartment in plastic air intake plenum.
Under the Dash on the drivers side by the door. It should have a plastic cover over it that will pop off.
Look behind the carpet panel in each corner. There you will see access to each light assembly. I believe there are 3 or 4 nuts that needs to be removed. Remove them, assembly should fall out. Then whalahh!
Remove the front bumper cover.... there should be 3 mounting bolts to remove the headlight after the bumper is removed.
Passat - ship - ended in 1957.

The thermostat is located behind the alternator. It sits in a hose assembly that comes from the engine. Simply trace the lowere radiator hose to the engine and you will find it.
