How do you get the automobile to work after you unhook the battery cable on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo you Purchased it used and it did not come with a owners manuel?

When I replaced the battery on my 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee it would not start up. I got it to work by locking all doors and then unlocking the doors. After doing this it would crank up. Hope this helps. Additional Info: Exactly. When you disconnect or change the battery the factory alarm engages and activates the engine kill switch. Just reconnect the battery and lock and unlock the doors with your key to reset it.
