First, you get good grades in highschool so you can get into college. Then you work hard for 4 years and graduate with a degree in engineering: civil, electrical, mechanical, and so on.

At some point, perhaps even before you graduate, you take a very difficult test from your state's licensing department. If you pass, you are issued an EIT certificate. (Engineer in Training) After 4 years (commonly) of apprenticeship under a licensed engineering, you take the PE test from your state's licensing department (PE = professional engineer) and if you pass this test, you are awarded a PE certificate, and you may practice engineering and stamp drawings with your PE stamp.

Has Michelle Obama law license been revoked?

No, this is another internet myth. Michelle Obama decided to leave the legal profession, since she was going to be involved with her husband's political career, and she allowed her license to expire. The license is now "inactive" since she is currently First Lady, rather than an active attorney. But since she left the legal profession in good standing, if she ever decides to practice law again, she can renew her license.
