Hey Andy=I presume the handle will release the brake but the rear wheels still won't move. The problem is that rear shoes rust to the drums when you run through water or if your car sits a long time in humid weather. Sometimes it is hard to get them unstuck. You may have to take the wheels off and beat on the drums to get them off. Once they are off sand the drums and shoes. If the handle wont release the brake cable, you just have to find out why the release mechanism malfunctions. goodluckJoe
I just tried that and Had great success. I did not even have to remove the rim. Just tap a couple times on the outside of the wheel you will see the rust fall out (or at least I did) and tada! car moved after a couple momentum pushes (let the car rock back and forth so you do less work). If you try this first you will avoid having a mechanic take you for a ride just to whack the rims a couple of times.
Q
Tighten it up!!
How do you change brake pads on a 2002 Nissan Sentra? How do you change brake pads on a 2002 Nissan Sentra? How do you change brake pads on a 2002 Nissan Sentra?
Check the fluid level in the master cylinder.
They just pull off but parking brake must be released & you may have to tap it. Shoes tend to fit pretty tightly in there.
I have a 1995 Nissan sentra and the brake lights were stuck on because of a switch that broke above the brake. the mechanic said it happens to alot nissans
The brake light switch is located above the brake pedal on a 1993 Nissan Sentra. To reach the switch the driver's door needs to be opened.
very carefully :)
Check the adjustment of the brake light switch.
the brake light driver side not working
When you put the van in gear the brake should pop up. You have to have your foot on the brake before taking it out of park.
If the parking brake cable is stuck, it is probably rusted in place. Try squirting WD-40 into the cable itself. If not, you will have to replace the cable.
