you have to enter the 4 digit safe code found in your owners manual
i believe you can but just make sure the radio is the same model and the one your taking out
You must insert the 5 digit code in order for the radio to work.
have you checked the alternator??? that's the first thing that comes to my mind if your battery is being drained
well...........its just a guess..............but it IS from 1995
yes it is
Sorry, your question needs clarification. You need to be more specific. Are you trying to perform a jump-start? Are you replacing the battery?
most car dealerships will help with unlock codes ... just call the jetta dealer and ask for service ..it will be a 3-5 min phone conversation with you sitting in the car . as they walk you through it
IF THE WORD SAFE APPEARS ON YOUR STEREO THE CODE WILL BE IN YOUR SOUND SYSTEM OPPERATING MANUAL. ANYTIME YOU DISCONECT BATTERY OR POWER TO THE RADIO IT WILL GO INTO SAFE MODE EVERYONE IS SUPPOSED HAVE A DIFFERENT CODE MAYBE YOU CAN GET CODE THRU YOUR VIN # IF YOU DONT HAVE MANUAL
On the same post connected to the battery.
By any chance have your battery cables been off ? If so , all the radio preset channels have to be reprogrammed
Bad battery, bad alternator, short in wiring harness, bad accessory always on (radio etc.).
Good question. Call a junk yard first, but if it's a DOHC and your replacing an SOHC, you might run into smog or emmissions trouble.. good luck!
