To get to the Statue of Liberty, you go to New York City and buy a ferry ticket at Castle Clinton in Battery Park. The ferry goes both to the Statue and to Ellis Island.
You can also take a ferry for Liberty State Park in Jersey City, New Jersey. Tickets are sold a the Commmunipaw Terminal there.
If you want to enter the pedestal of the Statue, you nee dot obtain a separate, complimentary ticket. If you want to climb to crown in the statue, you must get a special ticket, which can be reserved up to a year in advance. Only 240 people, carrying only medication and cameras, are permitted to make the climb each day.
You have to go to Battery Park at the south end of Manhattan (Don't worry. It's not a very big park). Once there, you go to this little circular place in the middle of the park and buy your tickets to hop on a boat, where they'll then take you out to the statue of liberty. If you're looking to get up into the crown though, you have to book tickets months ahead of time.
You take a ferry to the park and you can get in.
To get to the statue of liberty you would ride on a ferry because its surrounded by water.
