How do you capture steelix in platinum?
Steelix can be found most commonly in the Victory Road, which is the road you travel on your way to the elite four. When you find it, the steelix will usually be around level 40-48. Water is super effective against steel, so bring a water Pokemon when trying to catch it, and try to get its hp low before throwing a poke-ball. Fire and fighting type Pokemon are also pretty effective against steel, so you can use them if you don't have a water Pokemon handy at the moment. Also, if you don't want to wait to catch Steelix in Victory Road, you can catch one in the Iron Island near Canalave. They are around levels 30-33. Just talk to the sailor who's standing near the boat and he will sail you off to the island. I believe that Steelix can be found in B2F (left) or B3F. They are really uncommon, so it might take a while to find one. Disortion world in Pokemon platinum walkthrough?
The Distortion World contains eight floors. On each floor, you have to find the rock platform that will transport you to the next floor when you stand on the middle of it. The Legendary Pokemon trio will show up from time to time to guide you. Make your way to B5F with their help. Once you reach B3F, Cyrus appears. Cyrus says that Giratina is to be found farther in. Cyrus tells you that your world and the Distortion World support each other Arriving on B5F, you cross the flying rocks and jump down to the ledge beyond. After that, there are some rocks that have to be moved by HM strength. There are three rocks in all that you have to push off. To get to the last one, you have to make a big turn and cross over a waterfall. As you cross the B3F to B4F and progress a little farther, you'll come to a lake that needs to be crossed with HM surf. After crossing, walk along the wall until you reach the ceiling, you'll come to the base of a waterfall. Use HM surf again. Scale the waterfall and you'll arrive at the third rock on B5F. You'll find the last rock shortly beyond the waterfall. Get up next to the rock and Azelf appears, showing you where you should drop the rock. Use HM strength and drop the rock into the hole in front of you. Then take the moving platform to B6F. You find the legendary Pokemon trio waiting for you on B6F. The rocks you pushed off of B5F have fallen down to this floor. Use Hm Strength to carry the rocks over to the three Pokemon. Fit the rocks into the hollows to send the trio home. B7F is where Giratina lurks. Head there with Cynthia, and you find Team Galactic Boss Cyrus waiting. He takes you on in battle. He has in his party: Houndoom at level 45 Gyarados at level 46 Weaville at level 48 Crobat at level 46 Honchkrow at level 47 All are weak against rock type moves so you can hit them hard with some rock type moves. Other effective choices to use are water type moves against Houndoom, electric type moves against Honchkrow, Gyarados and Crobat and Fighting, Fire, Bug and steel type moves against Weaville. Once you have beaten Cyrus Cynthia will restore you pokemons HP and PP. She says defeating or catching Giratina will halt the distortion of the world. Continue forward until you encounter Giratina. To try to capture Giratina your Pokemon should be well between levels 45 and 50. First use ice, ghost, dragon and dark type moves to deal double the damage on Giratina. Once he gets down to low yellow whittle his HP down with fire, water, grass, poison or bug type moves which deal only half damage. Then keep throwing ultra balls until he gives in or if you still have your masterball use that. He takes a long time to catch so be patient he will eventually give in. If you defeat or capture Giratina it's rage will finally be stilled and the distortion world will be turned back to normal. Pass through the glowing white hole that appears and return to your own world. On the other side of the hole, you will find yourself in Sendoff Springs near route 214. My suggestion would be to save the game right before your encounter with Giratina that way if you KO him by accident you could just restart the game and he will still be there not KOed and you could just keep trying to capture him.
