Go to device manager and check if you see a yellow mark beside the Camera device. If not, chances are the drivers are installed and you can't get the front end (Crystal Eye to work). Download this tool and install it, it will provide you with a preview of the USB Video Stream. This way you will know that your webcam is working or not!

This is acutally the Intex Drivers. I happen to own an Acer Laptop with the same problem. The video drivers work, but Crystal Eye (Front End) doesnt work. This Intex Driver will install a free front end to view the USB Camera Feed.

∙ 12y agoThe Acer Laptop should have the built in crystal eye webcam. However it is only activated when using a program requiring a webcam. (Msn chat, skype etc etc) Unless you are using the webcam through one of those programs (or similar programs) then you will not see your webcam show up.

∙ 10y agoI found my web cam on my acer aspire 5534 under start, all programs, acer crystal eye webcam. open that folder and it has a link you can place on your desktop. (right click and send to desktop which creates an icon on your desktop for ease of use later) Hope this helps you.

∙ 12y agoIt depends on which model Acer you have. My son has a Acer Aspire 5532, which he later found it doesn't have a Webcam or a mic. (Maybe that's why I have a Toshiba :-D ) You'd have to check the laptop manual to see if you have a Webcam, and to locate the program to run it.

If you have a ACER ASPIRE , you could search crystal eye webcam and you would see on the left side, the right icon is a video cam you could click that and you are ready for recording a new video using you're webcam on your laptop. :D
