when my cats were small I would ignore them when they tried to wake me up in the middle of the night---also when I'm in the bathroom getting ready for work they try to scratch at the door but I ignore them--now they don't do it--but sometimes you can't ignore them.
You probably can't. Well, you could get rid of the cat.
You might try keeping a squirt bottle of water near the bed, and using it to spray the cat when it annoys you in the mornings. The cat may eventually get the idea. Unfortunately cats tend to generalize, and it may get the idea to leave you alone always, which may not be what you wanted.
Water can be a great thing in this situation. All that is needed is a clean spray bottle with cold water. When the cat is being forceful to get attention or getting into something they should not be in. Aim and squirt the water about 2 or more times at the cat.The cat should take off or back up. A pet friendly way to get your cat to leave you alone .
Why would you want to have your cat leave you alone?
throw something on it and then dump water on its head.
Put a firecracker in its ear
do no pet or feed it

Act like you want it to come to you. Cats seem to have an instinct for this.
Cats are cats, and chipmunks are food to them. Other than keeping the cat inside there is not much that can be done about it.
it depends on the cat my cat loves it when it is only me in the house but mostly if it is a kitten it will love attention but it depends on the cats love of people if it runs away LEAVE IT ALONE!!!

In general cats don't need as much attention as dogs, or humans. But they do get lonely if they're left alone for most of the day. Try to spend as much time with your cat as you can when you're at home. Getting another cat that's the same age as your cat can also help to keep them company.
