First you have to press the clutch all the way to the floor, then move the gear shifter whether it is on the collar or stick shift) to the middle of all the gears, then the vehicle will be in neutral.
Your clutch is not disengaging.
A FUALTY SPARK PLUG
You go down one to engage first gear and then as you accelerate you go up one (and most gear boxes automatically bypass neutral on the way up) and engage second gear, then up again for third and so on. On the way back down the gear box most gearboxes generally go from second into neutral, so essentially you slow down and stop before going down from second into neutral.
If manual box then check all gear change linkages back to the box.
no, unless you continue to pull gear back. Usually this happens if you don't keep feet on breaks until you put gear in neutral then raise your brake lever and then place gear in park position.
I'd start with the parking brake I have had cars that would back up but not go fwd when it was on. Stuck maybe? Good luck. David
Pull the clutch lever and downshift until the bike is in neutral. When the clutch is engaged it's just like neutral =================== a>clutch b>tap tap tap tap tap down on the lever. as many times as you want. You likely will feel it once it is in 1st. c> tap UP half a step It should feel light, not like a full gear change. Your neutral indicator light will light up if you have one. d> let go of the clutch slowly. Always slowly, just in case you left it in gear. If you did, then you can pull it back before you start moving.
Check the fluid level. If it is full you have a more serious problem.
To switch back to automatic after being in the simulated manual mode, you need to shift past fifth gear. When you reach fifth gear, you can tap the shifter to the right twice and it will go back into automatic. Or, you can shift the car to neutral and then back to drive. I would suggest being stopped for this though.
drive car to warm oil, keep engine running, put handbrake on, go through all gear selections then back to neutral - check oil
Check your clutch fluid level or your automatic transmission fluid level.
could be the neutral safety switch.
