You need to buy a set of Ford radio removal tools (about $5) they are "U" shaped. Push the 4 ends into the 4 holes on the front of the radio about 1" until it releases and then use the tools like handles to pull it out. On 2002 and earlier I think you have to remove some trim first. After pullling it out unplug the antenna and the harness and you are done
Its in the dash with te other harnesses...(orange.....i think)
The 2001 Mercury Sable does come with a CD player. If the car does not have a CD player in it, an install kit can be purchased to install a CD player.
This sounds like the same trouble I have with my 1998 Mountaineer. See my answer under related questions. My friendly Ford - Lincoln - Mercury Dealer wanted almost $400.00 now the CD player is dead too.
Drivers side on the frame paralle to the tranny , you have to get it from underneath..
To remove the cassette player from a 1994 Holden Apollo to install a CD player, the first step is to remove the knobs for the radio. They should just pull off. Then locate the screws holding the radio cover. This might require an Allen wrench. Remove the radio, unhook the antenna and speaker wires and then install the CD player.
pull up the center console top. You'll find your CD player, CD storage holder, coin holder, and by pulling up on your coin holder-gives you access to the kleenex box.
Yes, you can put a CD player in a 1998 Mercury Sable. Simply take the vehicle into an automotive audio shop. They will install a single or 6 disc changed CD player while you wait. They can also modify your antennae and other audio and speaker settings.
I have the same problem, except I have a cassette player and not a CD player. I believe the answer is the antenna has come loose from the radio but I do not know how to check it.
If the player enables radio it should use either an in built antenna of use the earphones as an antenna. Nothing more to buy or build.
In order to install the player on the Nokia 6600 you must first locate your settings. When you've located settings, press install player.
I have a '99 Taurus. There doesn't seem to be an antenna plug near the dash. The only one I have found is near the antenna itself in the left rear fender well. you will have to go buy a antenna adapter... its a long wire that will plug into the back of the anatenna and then run it through you back seat and then under your bottom trim to the center control center if you have any Q's email me at CobraJet_07@yahoo.com. i just put a new CD player in my 1998 Ford Taurus and i have a lot of good tips for people I'm not sure about the Taurus wagon, but I had to replace the antenna on a Mercury Sable wagon. The radio module is located in the left rear trunk space behind the wall trim. You will have to remove the module to replace the antenna wire. Hope this helps.
does it try to eject? try taping the top of the player in repititon quickly if this works consider dismantleing and cleaning w/ compresed air or they have realley nise sound systems at walmart or best buy (not cheep)
To install a CD player in that vehicle you have to bypass the brain of the system, which is over the AC switch. (just disconnect) The other component of the radio has to be taken out and replaced with CD player of choice along with a kit that can be purchased at Wal-mart. Make sure to also purchase antenna adapter and correct wiring harness. (makes it easier no cutting wires, plug in)
we can offer the antenna for you.my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org you can contact me any time, thanks!
Remove the trim plate from the shifter. Remove the instrument/radio trim plate. Remove the right side console extension panel. Remove the heater duct. Reach behind the radio and remove the antenna lead. Remove the radio retaining screws. Pull the radio out and disconnect the electrical connectors. To install the CD player you will to buy an installation kit for a'89 Grand Am (it will have all the parts to mount the CD player and instructions how to install it)

I was wondering the same thing, i noticed that my FM radio would go in and out and was very staticy so i took the factory radio out and took a look. The antenna end that plugs into the stereo was the wrong size so the plug wouldnt go in all the way. I bought a new end, just the end not a new antenna, and wired it on and now the whole thing is messed up. I dont want to buy a new antenna and the same thing happens.
I really doubt there is a kit to install a CD player in that car, you will have to install it on your own somehow.
There is no flash player
Go to install doctor.com they will have it
The antenna is probably not connected
