Ideally if you don't already know, you shouldn't be doing it. Especially if you don't know about anti-static precautions. For a desktop: Ground yourself against a radiator or any earthed metal (just hold it for a few seconds) to remove any static charge you may be carrying. Unplug the power supply, open the case of the PC (may require removal of screws or undoing clips depending on the model of PC). Find the hard drive which needs replacing, it should look pretty much same as the one you have to replace it with. If there is more than one hard drive present, then you'll have to check which one needs removing before continuing. Unplug the power connector and the data cable from the back of the old hard drive. Remove the hard drive (if in a caddy you will need to swap the caddy over, which may require removal of some screws as well). Put the new hard drive in (also using the caddy if one was present). Plug the 2 cables back into the hard drive. Put the case back on. Job done!
Most hard-drives are 'standard' fitting these days. In most cases, it's simply a case of removing the drive from the Dell, and slotting it into a spare drive-bay in the HP computer. The electrical connections (power & data) cables should be the same fittings in each machine. Once it's physically installed, Windows should detect the drive, and give you various options as to what you want it to do with it !
To remove the hard drive on a Dell Dimension 2350 desktop computer, one has to open up the system unit. The hard disk can then be unscrewed from the drive bay.
Would I need an external hard drive case? I opened up the Gateway and there are no cords that would be able to connect to the hard drive from the Dell, unlike someone had told me. Though I understand because they are two different computers. Answer: Shut down the computer. and then open cabinet and remove hard drive power cable and data cable. and screw. and then install new hard drive.
# Turn the computer over, and remove the hard drive screws. # Slide the hard drive out of the computer. # Remove the new drive from its packaging. # Use firm and even pressure to slide the drive into place. If you use excessive force, you may damage the connector. # Slide the hard drive into the bay until it is fully seated. # Replace and tighten the screws. # If the new hard drive is not already pre-imaged, install the operating system and drivers for your computer

You can easy install a new hard drive into your Dell Desktop PC. Its because DELL is a computer company and the E looks like a floppy drive going into a computer
You most certainly can. Just because it is a dell printer; doesn't mean that it has to run on a dell computer; Just make sure you put in the CD to install the drivers and software BEFORE plugging in the printer otherwise it won't work
Yes, if you install OS X on the dell computer in question.

No. Dell Windows Vista looks for a specific BIOS chip exclusive to Dell PCs. If it does not find it, it will refuse to install
