How do you install a diesel auxilary fuel tank?
depends what you want to install the tank in if it is in a pickup, there are easy to install tanks available that sit in bed of truck some also have tool boxes built in
Putting diesel in a gasoline powered engine is less damaging than putting gasoline in a diesel. Depending on the amount of diesel and how long it took to find out it was in there, either after running or just after filling up and not attempting to start and noticing. Obviously if vehicle wasn't started just drain tank and refill w/petrol. If vehicle was started and stopped running, Drain fuel tank and flush, disconnect fuel lines…
The most effective way is to drain the fuel tank completely and then refill it with diesel fuel, add a bottle of methelated spirits to the fuel tank to ensure the water is no longer there, the metho breaks down the water particles and allows them to be burnt with the diesel, also change your fuel filter, as it can hold water, also the tank can become rusted /corroded due to the water being inside,
If the van has a diesel engine, then you MUST use diesel fuel. Unleaded gasoline will destroy a diesel engine. Diesel fuel is also used as a lubricant in a diesel engine. The use of any other fuel except diesel will result in serious damage. If you have put unleaded in your diesel, do not start or drive this vehicle until you drain the tank and change all the fuel filters.
