There are typically 2 speed sensors an in and an out. They cost about $20.00 ea. There is a wire plugged into it. Unplug the wire, unscrew the sensor and screw the new one back in. Plug the wire back in. Be sure to replace the sensor with the correct one. The in is not the same as the out. Compare the ends when tou remove them. Also be aware that the Transmission Fluid will come out so be ready.
It does not use an input speed sensor.

The vehicle speed sensor is located on the top center of the rear axle.

The speed signal comes from the abs sensor on top of the rear axle.
The output speed sensor is located on the back end of the transmission. The vehicle speed signal comes from the abs sensor on the top of the rear axle.
Idle speed on a 2000 Dodge Dakota is computer controlled and is not adjustable. If the speed is incorrect there is a mechanical or sensor malfunction.

It is on the driver side of the transmission tail housing. It is a two wire sensor.
The speedometer signal comes from the ABS sensor on top of the rear axle. The trans also has speed sensors on it for trans shifting.
The speed sensor is located under the shift linkage on top of the transmission and is only held in place by one (10mm) screw.
