∙ 2011-09-13 04:50:56This is a novice repair. Very easy. Even the wife could do. Most Crown Vic's and Grand Marquis from 1998-2005 have the valve located at the rear of the air intake section. Where a carburetor would have been. Where the manifold meets the air intake section of the manifold. It is small, has 2 bolts and a electric connector. It also has a small exhaust hose attached to it. Just remove the 2 bolts and gasket along with the gasket, as you remove it, you will see that the exhaust hose is also easily removed just by twisting the valve a little. Replace if necessary. You can also clean the valve by using carb cleaners. But this will only buy you time, as the valve should be replaced as a assembly. It's small, fits in the palm of your hand, and can be purchased on eBay for less then $50.

The 1993 Mercury Grand Marquis does not have front shocks. The Mercury has front struts. Compress the strut spring with a spring compressor. Remove the strut retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install the new front struts.
Remove the wiring harness from your 1999 Mercury Grand Marquis ignition coil. Remove the ignition coil retaining screws. Reverse the process to install your new ignition coil.

Who told you that you cannot install any 5.0? Of course you can with the proper modifications.
Remove the spark plug wires from your 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis spark plugs. Remove the spark plugs by turning them to the left with a deep well 5/8 socket. Reverse the process to install the new spark plugs.
Remove the tire and wheel from your 1996 Mercury Grand Marquis. Remove the ball joint retaining nuts. Pound the ball joint out with a hammer. Reverse the process to install your new ball joint.
