How do you keep a bunny cool in 100 degree weather?
Freeze a 2 litter soda bottle, then put it in his cage.
Rabbits are naturally diggers. They dig burrows to keep cool. Your bunny is doing what comes naturally to cool himself and also to hide from predators. Try putting your bunny under a tree and putting frozen water bottles in with him. Also a place for him to hide, maybe a milk crate turned upside down.
Rabbits lick themselves clean like many small animals. Rabbits should NEVER be "given a bath or shower" as submerging them in water can cause shock and kill your furry little friend. Only wet your rabbit if it is suffering heat exhaustion and only do this to his ears. (The ears have many large veins in them which can help to rapidly cool the rabbit.) Remember that rabbits in the wild manage to keep themselves clean…
