Igneous intrusiverocks form when magma cools and crystallizes within the earth. Rocks cool slowly inside the earth and this time allows large crystals to form. Intrusive rocks have large visible grains (phaneritic). Examples of intrusive igneous rocks are granite, gabbro and diorite.Igneous extrusive rocks form when lava cools and crystallizes on the earth's surface. Since cooling happens very rapidly on the earth's surface extrusive rocks have a very fine grained (aphanitic) appearance. Examples of extrusive igneous rocks are pumice, obsidian and basalt.

Intrusive rocks pushes its way up the chambers. It doesn't erupt out. It forms under the Earth's surface.
