I have pictures of a basket I won recently at a fundraiser that claimed it was a Longerberger basket. I closely looked at the basket, and have reason to believe that it ISN'T a Longerberger Basket. There are no marks on this basket, and someone black magic marked out something on the bottom. I'm afraid they blacked out the Made is Taiwan stamp.
Almost all Longaberger baskets have the company name/logo stamped or burned into the bottom of the basket and the weaver's initials and date penciled in. Some of the newer rounded baskets may have the logo on the inside rim of the basket, but the only ones that would not have a logo are the really old ones that predate 1982.
Look at the bottom of the basket for a date, the weaverâ??s initials and the Longaberger logo stamped on the outside surface. Check the trim strip around the top of the basket to see how it attaches. If the basket is a Longaberger, you will find small tacks, not staples.
