catalytic converters are located near the muffler.very difficult to replace
Crawl under the vehicle and follow the exhaust pipe from the engine rearward. You will run into the catalytic converter.
look under you Chevy and locate the catalytic converter. Your 02 sensors are located before and after the catalytic converter on your muffler. See 1 or 2?
Between the exhaust header and the catalytic converter.
The oxygen sensor is located just upstream from the catalytic converter. Crawl under the vehicle, and locate the catalytic converter, after the exhaust manifold and before the muffler. There should be a four wire sensor there.
Crawl under the vehicle and look up at the exhaust system. The catalytic converter is the first part that looks like a muffler mounted in the exhaust system coming rearward from the engine.
Crawl under the vehicle and look up. You will see the converter connected to the exhaust pipe coming from the engine.
Sensor 2 is the one after the catalytic converter. Located strait down under intake.
They are all threaded into the exhaust system at various points starting with one directly behind each exhaust manifold then one just before the catalytic converter then one just after the catalytic converter.
On a Ford Expedition ( 4.6 and 5.4 ) Bank 1 is the passenger side of the engine Sensor 1 would be close to the engine BEFORE the exhaust enters the catalytic converter Sensor 2 would be AFTER the exhaust has passed through the catalytic converter
You get to it from the trunk. Lift up the carpet, and locate access panel in front pass side of trunk.
Its right on the exhaust manifold, if u look down from the top u should see the cable and be able to locate it. There is also a rear O2 sensor between the header and the catalytic converter.
One can locate a DVD to iPod converter at many websites online. One just needs to know how to use the search and put the right key words into the search.
If you open the hood of your Honda Civic, most likely you will locate the oxygen sensor (O2) mounted in the exhaust manifold, above the exhaust pipe flange. On some models the exact location might vary, but you can always find the sensor by following the exhaust manifold and pipe. Depending on the year model of your Honda Civic, you may find a Primary Oxygen Sensor (PHO2) right before the catalytic converter and a Secondary Oxygen Sensor (SHO2) right after the catalytic.
One is on the downpipe (right below the exhaust manifold) and the other is right after the Catalytic Converter, and they are expensive The o2 sensors are really not that expensive. The one that is located by the header is only $20.00 at either advance auto, or napa. The other one by the catalytic converter is only $60 to $70. If you think that is expensive then your not looking in the right stores. That is cheap compared to other parts that is normally replaced after so long.
Tell your dad to look on the exhaust right after the manifold, there may be 2 of them 1 before the catalytic converter and one after but most likely only the one. It is the only thing attached to the exhaust system with wires connected to it, he may want to get the o2 sensor removal tool which is a deep socket with a slot in the side so you dont mess up the wires.
Assuming that has a V6 you have two o2 sensors on your van. One is in one of the exhaust monifolds and one is in the tailpipe after the catalytic converter. All you need is a socket wrench and an o2 sensor socket that you will find at autozone. -broncomudder89
how do you replace a thermostat in a rover 25
There are 2 O2 sensors. One is upstream, which is before the catalytic converter, and a downstream, which is after. It shouldn't that hard to locate as you can find the wire that hooks into the exhaust system. I'd help you with removal but I'm no mechanic. I just know where things are from watching my dad's mechanics.
I've recently replaced both oxygen sensors on a 96 Tacoma 4x2. "Sensor 2" is the one after the catalytic converter. It's on the exhaust pipe, a few inches behind the converter. Held in place by 2 nuts. Electrical connection is attached to truck frame.
To replace the alternator belt on a Citroen Berlingo, you have to locate the tensioner. You can loosen it to replace it.
were can i locate and replace a starter for a 1998 buick regal?
On the top of the exhaust manifold is where the O2 sensors are located. There is an upstream and downstream sensor on each side of the engine. If the sensor is sensor 1 position 1, the sensor 1 means it is on the side of the first cylinder and position one means it is before the catalytic converter. If the sensor is sensor 1 position 2 it would still be on the side of the first cylinder but after the catylatic converter.
Bank 1 Sensor # 2, is located directly before the catalytic converter, and it is ontop of the exhaust pipe,, some times making it hard to locate,, their are four o2 sensors on this vehicle,, two at manifolds,, 1 before and after cat..
