I have never made one but if you look up on YouTube, "How to make a decent Breyer western saddle", and it should pop up some videos for you, you can also buy some

An amazing site is riorondo. they have a 25$ kit that you make, and depending on how you make it, it can be live show quality. even if you want a "show quality" saddle, after you make it, you have a sense of accomplishment. the $25 is for a traditional saddle kit. i made a second one, and won first place in a local craft show.
