first u need 2 smoothstone witch u make by putting 2 cobblestone in a furnace. once u have 2 stone u put 1 on top of the other in crafting table like this:

Note that it must be 'smooth' stone and not Cobblestone. To make smooth stone, 'smelt' some Cobblestone in a furnace.
