How do you make a website your homepage?

On most pages that you would want to use as a home page there is somewhere to click that says, "Make This My Home Page". You can also just copy the address of the page you wish to make your home page, and on your browser click Tools>>internet Options>>General Tab>>Paste that address in the section Home Page>>click apply. In regards to a webspace you own, to set up a homepage, your homepage information should be called index.html

These are usually externally downloaded programs that install malware (such as spyware, adware, etc), which changes the homepage of Web Browsers such as Internet Explorer.

To fix this temporarily, you can click on "Tools" -> "Internet Options" -> Delete the current homepage, and set a new one. -> Hit "Ok".

To make sure that this doesn't occur in the future, you may want to run a spyware/malware detection program on your computer. A very good program is called "Avast!" and it is completely free. You can download Avast! from www.avast.com.

This is for users of internet explorer 7:

• open up a internet explorer window
• go on the website you want to make your homepage
• click on the arrow next to the house icon at the top of the window
• click on "add or change homepage" (this should open up a new smaller window)
• click on the little circle next to where it says "use this as your only homepage"
• Click on yes

to check if you've done it properly, close that window and open up a new internet explorer window.

For users of other internet explorers:

• open up a internet explorer window
• go on the website you want to make your homepage
• copy the address in the address bar
• click on tools
• click on internet options
• look where it says homepage (there should be some box below it where you can write your homepage address)
• delete the text in the box
• paste in that box (if right-click doesnt work, press ctrl+v)
• click on ok

to check if you've done it properly, close that window and open up a new internet explorer window.

You go on the webpage and click on the little house on your favorites bar then click add webpage as homepage.
