You can't. I think you are talking about new DOCX standard. In this case only Microsoft Office 2003 with additional patch/plugin can handle this new format. I always use Microsoft Publisher 2003 or 2007 (2007 is better) you can almost make anything there, and instead of poster look for banner and just adjust it to the size you want it. P.S. You do not need one big paper for it, it will print out pieces and you just tape them together.
