How do you open a car door when it is stuck on lock and will not unlock even with the key?

You may have to cut a hole in the door trim pannel. I would take it to a auto trim shop and they may be able to do it.

The fuse for the power door lock relays is in the fuse panel ( # 18 ) The relays for driver unlock , all unlock , and all lock ( if it is the same as the 4 door ) are in the jack storage compartment .

If it came equipped with power locks, it's possible the lock actuators seized up and it's impossible to lock/unlock them depending on which they were before they seized. My drivers rear door lock actuator seized up in my '92 Tempo GL and it was impossible to unlock, I had to remove the door panel with the door closed and just cut off the actuator stem (the part that actually makes the door lock/unlock) and then it's possible to lock/unlock the door.

Slide a thin aluminum ruler(yard)between window and door just over handle and strike down.It worked for me

Try holding up on the outside handle and shutting the door. If no luck the door panel must be removed for repair.

If you are able to unlock the doors but not lock them I would suspect the " door lock " relay located in the jack storage compartment . There are relays for door unlock / door lock / interior lamps / driver door unlock / and trailer park lamps in the relay box. The door lock relay is one of the larger relays , located in the bottom left position ( looking at the picture ) good luck !

check fuses........ rosdale joe Better ANSWER Door lock solenoid, it is what activates the levers to lock and unlock the door. You will need to remove door handle and interior door panel to get to it.
