The thing i do is get some warm salt water and a cotton bud and press the water around you hole but while you have the earrings in. This way it helps get rid of soreness and less chance of infection.

Make sure that they autoclave everything and just use common sense and make sure that it's a clean shop. DON'T GET THEM DONE WITH GUNS. Then, just keep cleaning your piercing. Your piercer will tell you about sea salt soaks and such. Don't ever use alcohol or peroxide. They can cause keloids and they delay the healing process. If you want an ear piercing, go for it. Infection is very easy to prevent so just be smart!!
