Not sure if it's the same as the 1996 Jeep, but here are it's instructions.

It's pretty easy. To help clarify I'm going to number the buttons 1, 2, and 3 where 1 is the button on the outside, close to the door, and 3 is the button on the inside.

Setting a button:

1.) Hold down the desired button and the LED will start to flash slowly (if it is solid this means that it has already been programmed and you must do a reset to program or select a different button).

2.) Continue to hold the desired button and then hold the garage door opener close to the visor and hold down it's button. You know the visor is programmed when it changes from a slow flash to a fast one.

3.) Release the buttons and test it out.

*** For rolling code garage door openers follow additional steps below***

After you have trained the jeep remote as stated above, you will notice pressing the button you have programed does nothing if you have a rolling code garage door opener.

4.) Press the learn button on your garage door opener (usually only have 30 seconds) and run back to the car and hold the button you programed for 2 seconds and then release. Now, repeat the "press/hold/release" sequence a second time, and, depending on the brand of the garage door opener (or other rolling code equipped device), repeat this sequence a third time to complete the programming.

Resetting the visor controls:

1.) Hold down buttons 1 and 3, for about 15 seconds, until the red LED starts to flash. Remember that this will reset all 3 buttons.

Hope this helps.

I have a 2004 Kia Optima, I looked all over the net for a way to program the fobs. Everywhere I turned they pointed me to the kia dealership. I also called some mechanic friends, they said they weren't able to do it and you guessed it, they pointed me to the kia dealership. So I called the dealership and the charge was 40.00 to program it. I called another kia dealership on the other side of town to see if there were any differences. They were going to charge me 10.00. Anyway, long story short - the dealership has to program the fobs. In the end, the dealership that was going to charge me 10 bucks gave it to me for free. This was about a year ago, well my fobs stopping working again. So I looking again to see if there are any 3rd party products to program my fobs. This is the only problem I have had with my optima, I also have 2004 Kia sedona (minivan) with no problems. I haven't had to replace the batteries yet in the fobs, go figure. Hope this helps.

If your garage door opener uses a rolling code transmitter, use the following directions for programming.

  • Step 1

Firmly press the 2 outer Car2U System buttons for 1-2 seconds, then release.

  • Step 2

Go to the garage to locate the garage door opener motor and its "learn" button. You may need a ladder to reach the unit and you may need to remove the unit's cover or light lens to locate the "learn" button. Press the "learn" button, after which, you will have 10-30 seconds to return to your vehicle and complete the following steps. If you cannot locate the "learn" button, refer to the Owner's Manual of your garage door opener.

  • Step 3

Return to your vehicle. Press and hold the Car2U System button you would like to use to control the garage door. You may need to hold the button from 5-20 seconds, during which time the selected button indicator light will blink slowly. Immediately (within 1 second) release the button once the garage door moves. When the button is released, the indicator light will begin to blink rapidly until programming is complete.

  • Step 4

Press and release the button again. The garage door should move, confirming that programming is successful. If your garage door does not operate, repeat the previous steps in this section. After successful programming, you will be able to operate your Car2U System by pressing the button you programmed to activate the opener. The indicator light above the selected button will turn on to confirm that the Car2U System is responding to the button command.

To program another rolling code device such as an additional garage door opener, a security device, or home lighting, repeat steps 1-4 substituting a different function button in Step 3 than what you used for the garage door opener. For example, you could assign the left-most button to the garage door, the center button to a security device, and the right-most button to another garage door opener.

Press the two outside buttons and release them when the indicator lights begin to flash. Hold the transmitter you want to encode 1 to 3 inches away from the bottom of the mirror. Simultaneously press the homelink button and the transmitter button and wait for the light to flash rapidly.

How do you program Mercedes Door opener 2004?

Take a look at the underside of your rear view mirror, you will see three small black soft buttons located on the left hand side. These are the "homelink buttons". Make sure that you are not sitting in the garage while you do this. Place your key in the ignition and turn the vehicle on. then press and hold the outer 2 of the three buttons, you will see a small orange light start to blink intermittantly on the far left underside of the mirror- when that light blinks very rapidly let go of the buttons. What you have just done is cleared any old information that may have been stored in the vehicles system. Next you want to take your garage door opener and hold it up next to those 3 little homelink buttons. press and hold the garage door opener button simultaneously with the black button that you would like to assign to that device- push and hold that until that little orange light flashes rapidly again. Make sure that your garage door "rolling code" feature is turned off when you do this, or the system will not be able to link up. There should be a small switch on top of the garage door unit that will allow you access to this feature.
