How do you program an Emerson smart jumbo universal remote?

Code search by device:

Turn on device you want to control (TV, VCR, DVD)

Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button until the red indicator light remains red, then release

Press the desired mode button (TV, VCR, DVD) and release

Press the POWER button slowly, but repeatedly

until device turns off. While doing this, the red indicator blinks then stays lit

Once the device turns off, press and release the Enter button to install code. The remote should be synced to the device.

Someone on another board pointed out that with some newer models you do not need to press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly. Rather, you press it only ONCE, and the device will cycle through all the code possibilities. When the TV turns off, it means that the proper code has been found. Immediately press the Enter button to install that proper code. This method (and no other) worked for me.

• Turn the electronic device on that you want to use with the remote.

• Point that remote at the device and press the "Code Search" button the remote. Hold that button down for a few seconds and the LED lights on the remote will turn on.

• Press the mode button on the remote for the electronic device you turned on.

• Start pressing the "On/Off" button located on the remote. Press "On/Off" once every two seconds until the electronic device powers down. This could take you several minutes because there are hundreds of different codes.

• Press "Enter" on the remote after the device turns off to save the code on the remote.

Here are the instructions:

Hold the device button you want to program for 3 seconds & release.

Push & release the power button & the red light will remain lit.

Push the CHANNEL UP button over & over slowly until the device turns off.

When device turns off press OK button.
