The engines on Aerostar vans come out from the bottom. You need a hoist or a winch capable of lifting the front end high enough for the engine to clear. Actually, I've done about 3 of these little gems so far. The easiest way to do it, and if you had the shop manual it would tell you this, is to pull the front end out...Headlights, rad support etc...Pull the engine through the front using a cherry picker type engine hoist. Believe me, you don't want to drop the front end as previously described. I did this in my first overhaul and it took over 3 days just to get the whole thing apart, letalone dropped.lol...
yes, but it also depends with torque and so on.
No drop it from under the car.
There are two screws holding the lens in place, remove both screws, pull the bulb assembly out, lift the lens off of bulb, pull the bulb straight out to replace it.

You have to pull the oil pan. In order to do that you have to pull the motor. I just replaced the motor with a brand new one in my 5.2. Make sure you set plenty of time aside. If you do pull the motor. Do not unhook the brackets that are connected to the front end and the motor. Good luck
it is behind the kick panel of the front passenger side. Simply remove the cover-look and find a small square black module. It has a small button on top like a chimney to a house. Push it in or pull it out to reset it.-Boz

will it not pull at all or just not well?? Could be low on transmission fluid if its having trouble moving when in drive.... I know i have seen it happen on a 95' ford aerostar, not an 89 though... If it doesn't move at all, perhaps shift linkage is not putting transmission into gear. check under van to inspect linkage.
