Find the belt tensioner; it is near the top of belt with a pulley attched to it.The tensioner is spring loaded so you will need a wrench or breaker bar to pry on it. It will have a square hole (breaker bar) or a hex fitting ( wrench) to allow you to move it. Before you do ,pay attention to how the belt runs. Simply put tension against it and the belt will slip off.
Refrigerant for a 1996 Buick Skylark is inserted into the low pressure AC hose. This hose is found on the left side of the engine bay.
You take it out and put a new one in
The 198 Buick Skylark was offered in a 2.5L L4 and 3.0L V6. Both power-train options were provisioned for automatic transmission fluid through the dipstick/tube assembly.
It is a big job. Get a manual from the parts store or from AUTOBOOKSONLINE.COM with your hands
Please show picture of how to put on belt
My 1998 Skylark has a switch on the bottom of the steering column I need to push in order to get the keys out of the ignition...
Go with the names you know. I put Prestone in mine. No problems.

Loosen the tensioner pulley on your 1992 Buick LeSabre. Take the serpentine belt off. Put the new serpentine belt on and tighten it down with the tensioner pulley.
Wiper arms on a 96 Buick Skylark can be adjusted. This can be done by flipping open the plastic snap cover at the bottom of the wiper arm. Loosen the ratchet and remove the nut. Then adjust the wiper arm. Put back the nut and tighten the ratchet.Ê
You can put a 15" or a 16". You can check with a GM dealer's service center about tire sizes, but the Gran Sport has 16" wheels.
put a wrench on the tensioner pully and pull it to release tension on the belt
Underneath the car. no need to jack the car up. its a blue valve
Put a wrench on the tensioner and turn counter clockwise, belt will come off easy.
Put a socket and ratchet on the tensioner belt pulley. Pull to the side, releasing the belt tension. Remove the belt and put the new one on, a helper will make this easier. Take the ratchet off to re-tension the belt.

You can do a cylinder leakage test to check for bent valves. You can do a cylinder leakage test to check for bent valves.
Put the belt tensioner tool on the tensioner pulley, and push away from you. Then you can slide the belt off. You either need to cut it or unbolt the engine from its mount and slip it out.
We are doing a 1992 skylark and we turned the bolt to the right. It was very tough to get off because of the lock tight they put on but it came out, now we are having trouble getting the tool in the slots to remove the drum itself.
You will have to loosen tentioner to get belt off of all pulleys. Then you need to jack up engine or pick up engine with a lift of some kind, just enough to hold engine in place while you remove upper engine mount, this has to be done so as to slip belt past mount and off engine. Then put new belt in position and bolt mount back in place. Release jack or lift. I usually put belt back on everything but alternator, pull on tensioner and roll back over alternator. This is on a 3100 engine, or 3.1 liter. Hope this helps
Your car uses 134 refrigerant. But a kit at most auto stores, etc. The kits have easy instructions to follow better than can be explained here.
You will see the plastic connectors on the back of the headlight mounting plate. Twist to the left while pushing inward. Reverse steps to put it back.
