Make sure your audio/music is in a compatible format for Windows Movie Maker:
.aif, .aifc, .aiff, .asf, .au, .mp2, .mp3, .mpa, .snd, .wav, .wma
Click on Import Media. Browse and locate your audio/music file.
Click Import. The file should appear in the Imported Media viewing pane.
Open up the Time-line (not Storyboard). Click, hold and drag your audio/music file down into the Audio/Musictrack.
The audio graph should be visible in the track.
Click Play in the preview pane to hear the results.
