How do you relieve a muscle spasm in the lower back?

Answer... As long as you DO NOT have electric shocks or burning pain running down your leg, simple heat [or ice] applied to the area for 20-30 minutes several times a day, moderate rest, Tylenol vs Naproxyn [Aleve] as directed on the bottle, followed in several days by gentle exercises/stretching should help a lot. You can alternate the heat with ice... whatever seems to work the best. Chriropracters are very good as long as you don't have any neurological defecits [the electric shocks / burning pains down the leg]... If you're someone with a long history of low back pain, search on the web for a good exercise program to follow to prevent further problems...
