Look for a Schrader valve on the fuel rail and press it to relieve pressure. If there is not one remove the fuel cap and then be prepared for a small spray of fuel when you disconnect the filter. Place a rag around the connection before disconnecting it.
Relieve the fuel pump pressure. Remove the fuel tank and on the top is the fuel pump module. Remove the module and replace with a new one.
If it has one, it will be located on the fuel rail.

(1) Locate the fuel pump electrical connection and disconnect it. (2) Start the engine and let it run until it stalls for lack of fuel (3) Unscrew the fuel filler cap to relieve any pressure in the tank (4) Relieve any remaining pressure in the system by placing a shop rag around the fuel line fitting at the top of the filter housing and slowly opening the fuel line fitting, allowiing the fuel to completely stop flowing.
Relieve the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. The fuel filter is located under the car on the driver's side frame just forward of the gas tank. You will need a special tool to remove the quick disconnects at the filter.
