How do you change the oil filter sending unit of a 1999 suburban?
Fuel tank must relieve pressure before you remove it.
May be a clogged fuel filter. If you change it yourself you need to relieve the pressure first or you will get a face full of gas when you loosen the filter line.
relieve the pressure in you fuel system by disconnecting your fuel pump the change the fuel filter the hook your pump back up
Depress the Schrader valve on the fuel rail mounted on the engine. It looks like the valve stem on your tires.
Find the fuel pump inertia (aka emergency shut-off) switch located behind the passenger side kick panel and press the button to disable it. crank the engine a few rounds to relieve the pressure. change the fuel filter and reset the inertia switch.
You don't. Just make sure the key is not on (best to not have it in the ignition at all) When you loosen the fuel filter, the pressure will relieve by leaking on the ground. Expect less than a half cup of fuel to leak out from pressure. The remainder fuel will be from inside the filter housing. Get ready to get your hands soaked in gasoline. Dont listen to that guy. You can relieve the gas pressure by simply open your gas cap and leave if off the entire time when you're working on your fuel filter. Some fuel will still leaks out from the fuel filter but at least it's not going to spray on your face.
it isn't necessary to relieve any pressure prior to replacing the fuel filter on the 2005 Impala, however be mindfull of the gas tha is in the lines and in the filter when it comes off
The 2003 Chevrolet Suburban fuel filter is located inside of the gas tank. You will to remove the gas tank in order to change the fuel filter.
Under hood, driver side, mounted on upper firewall in fuel line. Loosen the gas cap to relieve any tank pressure. Look for a Schroeder valve on the fuel rail, to relieve fuel pressure. When disconnecting the fuel filter wrap it with a rag and be prepared for a sudden spray of fuel. Buy the new filter and you can then see how it is connected.
drop pan replace filter reinstall pan
A 93 model does not have a cabin filter. SORRY
remove the fuse for the fuel pump and try to start the car, if it starts it will only run for a second or two then die, then you have relieved the fuel pressure.
RELIEVE THE FUEL PRESSURE FIRST! I suggest going to Autozone.com and research it, but on my 1990 Stanza it involves pulling the fuse for the fuel pump, then cranking the engine until it dies, then crank it a few seconds to relieve it. if you don't relieve the pressure, you'll have 40 PSI of gas spraying out of the connection, which could start a fire or blind you. After the fuel pressure is gone, find the filter and remove then replace it with a new one, note the arrows on the filter for IN and OUT. Rplace the fuse, start the engine and look for leaks.
First loosen the gas cap and relieve any pressure in the tank. Now look on the fuel rail for a schrader valve and push it to relieve the pressure. It will look like a tire valve. If you find none, then just be prepared for a spray of fuel when you disconnect the fuel line. Wrap it with a rag to prevent the spray.
yes. if there is pressure in the system ( and there probably is ) when you loosen the fuel lines it will spray fuel everywhere creating a dangerous and possibly unhealthy situation
Relieve the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. The fuel filter is located under the car on the driver's side frame just forward of the gas tank. You will need a special tool to remove the quick disconnects at the filter.
Relieve fuel system pressure. detatch filter bracket from the chasis. depress the plastic quick release tabs and detatch the lines from the filter. use one wrench to steady the filter and another to unscrew the fuel line fitting and remove filter.
Defective oil filter or relief valve at the top of the filter housing not opening to relieve excess pressure
It doesn't have one. To test the fuel pressure an adapter has to be installed between a fitting at the fuel filter and the fuel filter, preferably the fitting feeding into the filter from the pump.
Engine oil with filter change 6.0qts
the world will never know...
5.75 with filter change
First you have to relieve the pressure on the fuel system. Then you will need a special tool they sell at all auto parts stores. The tool releases the fitting on both ends of the filter. The new filter simply clicks into place.
Take the gas cap off and relieve the pressure on the tank. There will still be a little pressure in the lines but not so much. Wear eye protection . Good luck.
