Insert your Windows 98 CD and reboot your computer. Begin the Windows 98 setup process. It will tell you that it does not recognize the filesystem on the hard drive, and will ask you to reformat it. Do so. It will then format the hard drive and reboot the computer. Start the setup program again, and follow the on-screen prompts to install Windows 98.

You cannot "uninstall" Windows. You need to format the hard drive and install Windows from scratch. You can do this by booting from the Windows CD (Windows 2000 in your case, I suppose) and following the steps onscreen. The reason that your internet did not work is probably that you neglected to install a driver for your network card or modem. Installing the driver should allow you to use the internet.
