The fuel pump on a 91 ford ranger is an electric fuel pump and is located in the gas tank. you must remove the gas tank and then you will see it there on top where it sits down in the tank.
REMOVE THE BED OF THE TRUCK. YOU CAN GET TO THE BOLTS TO REMOVE THE TANK. 6 BOLTS AND UNPLUG THE WIREING HARNES.

It has an electric fuel pump inside of the fuel tank. You have to remove the tank to get the pump out of the top of it.
The ranger has a fuel sending unit inside the gas tank. These are notorious for going out. Only way to change it is to drain and drop the gas tank or remove the bed. The sending units that I have been looking at cost about $100
