This job is a real pain! Start by removing the lower dash trim from the driver and passenger side. All this is much easier if you remove the passenger seat. Remove the stainless trim, the aluminum trim and finally the passenger dashboard access plate, You will need the remove the vent control cable to get this out of yor way. Now remove the heater access panel...you should now be able to see the core. disconnect the heater hoses and the 3 nuts from the engine firewall that hold the heater unit in place from the engine side. aAt the passenger side, gently pull the unit towards you to access the 4 heater core bolts. remove these and the valve cable and the core should come right out.
you might be able to just go through the back of the glovebox to get to the heater core
you have to remove the dash, get a Haynes manual Chilton's may be better rent from library) follow the remove dash instructions, heater core is slightly to the left of the glove box. remove heater core cover, remove hoses from heater core (engine compartment) pull out old core. pia job.
